Activities in protected areas

Protected areas are often subject to a number of additional requirements or restrictions in addition to the usual rules of procedure for the protection of natural values. They are mostly specified in the protection rules of the area, but in protected areas and sites of protected species the Nature Conservation Act and the conservation management plan or action plan for the protection of the species. In the construction prohibition zone of the beach and shore of water bodies, very strict rules of operation apply everywhere, not only to protected natural objects. You can find more information about the above in the subsections of this page.

In most cases, in protected areas, conservation areas and permanent habitats of species, the approval of the protected area manager requires planning and construction, major events and driving of motor and off-road vehicles, land management operations, modification of land areas, etc. activities that may endanger the condition of natural values.

Sometimes experts also have to assess the effects of the proposed activity separately environmental impact assessment and Natura assessment.

Due to the restrictions set for the protection of natural values, the state has undertaken to purchase private lands for the state under certain conditions.

In water bodies prohibition zones and on the beach or shore, the construction is generally prohibited; exceptions are provided by the Nature Conservation Act.
